As Lead Scientist for the U.S. Forest Service at the Penobscot Experimental Forest, I direct multiple long-term research projects on even- and uneven-aged silviculture of northern forests, including northern conifers (spruce-fir-hemlock), northern hardwoods (maple-beech-birch) and mixed woods. My research portfolio includes studies of northern white-cedar, outcomes of exploitative harvesting, rehabilitation of degraded stands, and effects
