An overarching focus of my research has been to understand the cumulative effects of landscape change and forest management on wildlife habitat and other natural resources. In my current capacity at the University of Maine, I have been using the LANDIS-II forest landscape model to improve our understanding of the resource tradeoffs (wood supply, carbon, wildlife habitat) associated with forest management in Maine, and the interacting effects of timber harvesting and natural disturbance on future forest conditions.
