Mike joined the faculty in fall of 2022 after working as a research scientist for Rayonier in the Pacific Northwest and postdoctoral researcher with the U.S. Forest Service and Michigan State University. His work focuses on quantifying site-vegetation dynamics and precision forest management. His specific research interests include digital soil, site, and vegetation mapping, adaptive management strategies, strategic diversification of forested landscapes, and planted-forest silviculture.
